Roy and Robert Culberson

Jacksonville
Ralph B. Culberson & Sons Ltd. is a third-generation farm established by father Ralph and passed down to sons Roy and Murray. They divided the farm, allowing their sons Robert and Mark to transition into their own farming careers.
The farm is known for its inventory of well-maintained equipment, a strong attention to production detail and high-performance yields

The farm is currently operating on a two-year crop rotation with potatoes-small grain as the typical rotation. The field hosting the New Brunswick Living Lab site follows an alfalfa-grass service crop-potato rotation in an effort to increase soil organic matter content, soil health and nutrient cycling. Roy and Robert have transitioned to a minimum-till production program and have been actively exploring cover crop options.
Roy is the chair of the Atlantic Grains Council and remains active on the farm supporting Robert and Natasha in raising the fourth generation of operators at Ralph Culberson & Sons Ltd.
