Lonsview Farms, operated by Eric Walker, is a testament to generations of dedication and agricultural heritage. As a third-generation farmer on this land and a fifth-generation farmer in the area, Eric continues the legacy established by his grandfather, who was the last director of the original Sussex Agricultural Co-op. The farm encompasses 1,700 acres, with 1,000 acres dedicated to a managed woodlot and the remainder focused on farming activities. Lonsview Farms is home to 225 milking cows and produces corn and forage.
Eric spent some time in the western provinces and then returned to New Brunswick to take over the farm, and his membership in the Young Farmer Program further fueled his commitment to agriculture. Since assuming leadership of the farm, production has tripled and Eric remains dedicated to improving farm operations. By collaborating with the New Brunswick Soil and Crop Improvement Association, he constantly refines the farm’s nutrient management practices. His active involvement in research and trials reflects his vision of transforming Lonsview Farms into a sustainable, modern and viable business. Eric aims to provide high-quality food and ensure a better future for the next generation.
