Duplessis Farms is a third-generation farm, currently operated by David and Jeremy Duplessis. Formerly a dairy farm, father David was an early adopter of no-till cropping systems, instilling a sense of progressive sustainable farming in the next generation.
The farm currently produces several annual and perennial field crops and operates a custom horse boarding facility. Jeremy farms part-time and is a full-time engineer. He transfers his knowledge of processes and analyses to find efficiencies in cropping as well as efficiently managing staff.
Duplessis Farms has a diverse cropping and cover cropping rotation including corn, soybean, small grains and dry hay deployed on upland glacial till plain soils and alluvial deposit soils that form the islands surrounded by the St. John River. They also maintain a small cow herd to help manage non-cropable acres on the farm’s land holdings.
